A “spectacular” new luxury villa on the Greek island of Symi has been unveiled by Travel a la carte.
The Green Door, located in Horio village, is pleasantly situated below the area’s famous ancient windmills.
High on a hill, the property’s large windows offer stunning views across town – where many other grand neo-classical luxury villas have been built.
Historically wealthy through the sponge-diving and boat-building trades, Symi is well-known as offering a grander, more laid-back atmosphere than the neighbouring holiday hotspot of Rhodes.
“The Greek authorities have placed a preservation order on the whole town to ensure the magical beauty is not lost,” Travel a la carte said in a statement.
“Symi is a tale of restoration, preservation, relaxation [and] imagination.”
Prominent local landmarks on the island – apart from the windmills – include the white monastery of Panormitis, the Aghios Nikolaos beach and the winding streets in the old town of Horio.
Rental prices for the Green Door start at £840 per week.
